Suspect killed, Greensboro law enforcement officer injured in Clemmons

A man is dead and a Greensboro police officer is injured after a shooting in Clemmons. As of Friday morning, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, State Bureau of Investigation and Greensboro Police Department were working to locate a homicide suspect. The suspect was at the Speedway gas station at 2405 Lewisville-Clemmons Road off Interstate 40 at around 8:10 a.m. Greensboro police say officers found the suspect as he exited the station -service. At that time, deputies said, there was an exchange of gunfire between the suspect and law enforcement officers. Greensboro officer MJ Ambrosio was shot by the suspect. The male suspect was pronounced dead at the scene Ambrosio was transported to Wake Forest Baptist with a non-life-threatening injury The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office was there to provide assistance as he was in their jurisdiction. The Greensboro Police Department said they’re part of a regional task force that works with other agencies to assist them with fugitive and missing person investigations. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is investigating this incident. The Greensboro Police Department said it would conduct an internal investigation to ensure all policies were followed.
