CENTRAL FLORIDA – A man who abducted two women in Osceola County on Saturday night was killed in a shootout with deputies and police from multiple Florida agencies.

The man was identified Sunday as Curtis Kimbrough, 42, of Cocoa Beach, Brevard County deputies said.

According to a statement from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Kimbrough shot and kidnapped a 41-year-old woman in Osceola County and held another 33-year-old woman hostage in her car, before leading deputies there. in a pursuit.

The chase continued in southern Brevard County, where deputies say Kimbrough fired at Indian River County deputies. According to the statement, no MPs were injured.

BCSO said the chase ended near Old Dixie Highway and Foley Lane in Grant, after the vehicle broke down and the woman who was shot managed to escape and be rescued.

The women were both taken to hospital. The 33-year-old has since been treated and released at the time of the Sunday update, and the 41-year-old remains hospitalized in serious condition, deputies said.

Brevard deputies said Sunday that officers were still determining whether there was a relationship between Kimbrough and the kidnapping victims.
