Law enforcement recovers hundreds of items stolen during search | Community

CADILLAC — Stolen items from across the region, including Ludington, have been recovered by Michigan State Police, according to a law enforcement agency news release Tuesday.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police’s Cadillac Post executed a search warrant at a residence on First Avenue in Manistee, and the statement said “hundreds of stolen items were seized.”

“The items were determined to have been stolen from various storage units and businesses in Manistee, Traverse City, Cadillac and Ludington,” the statement said.

The search was the result of investigations by various police departments, from troopers at MSP’s Cadillac and Hart stations to deputies from the Grand Traverse County and Manistee County Sheriff’s Offices to officers from the Cadillac and of Manistee, the statement said.

Two Arkansas residents, a 25-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, were arrested in Grand Traverse County for retail fraud by that county’s deputies. The couple arrived in the state Nov. 5 in a vehicle believed to have been stolen in Arkansas, the statement said.

Officers from the Manistee Police and Fire Department and the Manistee County Sheriff’s Office assisted the search troopers in Manistee.
