Oklahoma law enforcement shoots and kills suspect after chase

Authorities say a suspect died while exchanging gunfire with law enforcement after a chase Friday morning in Weatherford. Weatherford Police Chief Louis Flowers said the department Police had received a call from a business owner in the 3300 block of East Main Street about a man who walked into the store, pulled out a gun and threatened him. Officers responded and learned that the suspect had left the scene. Police found the vehicle shortly after and officers approached the suspect. Flowers said the suspect pulled out a weapon, but no shots were fired. Officers backed up and Flowers said the suspect got back into his vehicle and drove through town. The suspect stopped a few times, drawing his gun each time. The suspect eventually pulled onto a road near Main and Washington and opened fire on the officers. Law enforcement returned fire, beating and killing the suspect. No officers were injured. Flowers said Weatherford police officers and Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers were involved in the shooting. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was assigned to investigate.
