By Zoila Palma González: Today, USAID, the United States Agency for International Development, donated communications equipment to Belizean law enforcement.

Home Affairs and New Growth Industries Minister Kareem Musa was on hand to receive the donation.

The equipment, a high-powered Dell server and three Dell workstations will strengthen the chain of information between multiple Belize government agencies so that criminal investigation processes are methodical and thorough.

“Data-driven decision-making is fundamental to an effective national security apparatus. USAID – U.S. Agency for International Development funded this donation through the regional #Infosegura project with its implementing partner, UNDP Belize,” the U.S. Embassy in Belize said.

This donation is part of broader efforts by the United States through InfoSegura to improve crime and justice data platforms in Belize and other regional neighbors.
