Law enforcement activity in East Sonora

East Sonora, CA – There is a lot of activity at the Junction Mall after an alarm at Umpqua Bank was triggered multiple times.

The alert came in the Tuolumne Sheriff’s Dispatch around 6:30 a.m. Sheriff’s spokesperson Ashley Boujikian told Clarke Broadcasting that deputies cordoned off the Mono Way and Tuolumne Road entrances to the mall as they were searching the area for suspects. They then, over the loudspeaker, ordered anyone inside the bank to come out. With no response, the deputies entered the building.

Boujikian detailed: “The bank has now been cleaned up and it was a false alarm.” She added that the mall would reopen shortly.
